This is this week’s update for the “Athens I Love You” renovation we are working with Athens Church on.

This week the framers were able to frame up the café and associated restroom. They also finished out the Waumba Land area, shot down the wall track for the relocated Next Room and framed most of the sanctuary 6” walls. We also marked out the front of the stage so you could get a feel for the size.
The steel workers finished installing the beam supports, removed the temporary columns and installed the AVL supports in the ceiling.
The temporary covers were removed from the windows and the frames and glass was installed.
The roofers dried in and installed a metal cap over the new beam cover.
Next week the framers will continue with the sanctuary walls and setting door jambs.
The electricians will continue to rough in conduit behind the framers.
The plumbers will be in next week to rough in the café and restroom areas and hopefully get an inspection by the end of the week.
